So why should you choose a venue within this stunning National Park for your special day? Let’s consider its location first of all. It’s an easy 90-minute drive down the M3 from London, home to over eight million people and, probably, at least some of your wedding guests. Heathrow Airport is on the same side of the capital, so if relatives or friends are flying in from abroad for your nuptials, they will enjoy an easy transfer either by car or train. Brockenhurst is the main railway station in the New Forest. Direct trains from London Waterloo stop there at least every hour. Ashurst New Forest is the closest stop to London, while the Lymington branch line provides an easy connection to the Isle of Wight. It’s also worth mentioning that other major cities like Birmingham, Bristol and Cardiff are only about three hours away.
Then there are the landscapes. Comprising over 200 square miles of unspoilt countryside, the New Forest encompasses vast areas of windswept heathland covered in gorse and heather, fringed by ancient forests of oak and beech. This is ideal as the backdrop to an engagement portrait session and dramatic wedding portraits at golden hour on your wedding day or afterwards.
There are a wide range of wedding venues to suit all budgets and styles. Take a look through weddings I have photographed in the New Forest:
