Norton Park proved to be a stunning backdrop for Gemma and Lawrence’s wedding in the final hours of 2019. Gemma got ready in the room adjacent to Lawrence’s in the old house, entailing some careful coordination by members of the bridal party to ensure the couple didn’t see each other until the ceremony! Once I had taken photos of Lawrence and his groomsmen getting ready, I took group shots of them outside, including some really sweet ones of his young son in the driving seat of the wedding limousine. The ceremony took place in the thatched barn and several pretty bridesmaids preceded Gemma up the aisle. It was over all too quickly and afterwards, the happy couple made their way out through a confetti shower.During the afternoon, Gemma and Lawrence enjoyed drinks with their guests while children played happily in a creche. With the days being short, we took romantic portraits in the grounds in mid-afternoon before their reception. Whereas I had imagined a cold and frost day, it turned out to mild albeit overcast. At least it din’t rain. Gemma and Lawrence cut their cake in the old house and then took to the floor for their first dance. They were quickly joined by young members of their party! It was the start of a memorable evening for them – and a great end to the year.
