Parley Manor, near Bournemouth, was the venue for Amy and Pete’s dream wedding. After getting ready and a ‘first look’ with her children, she was accompanied up the aisle by her younger two page boys. At the temple in the lush gardens, she and Pete were married by a local registrar in a simple yet moving ceremony.
Confetti preceded a group photo – taken from the roof of the conservatory! On an increasingly sunny afternoon, the ice cream stand proved popular with guests. They relaxed and chatted over a glass of Pimms while I took formal family portraits.
Dusky pink was the chosen colour theme. This was carried over from the bridesmaid’s to the beautiful decor and florals in the large marquee. There guests enjoyed the wedding breakfast, a delicious barbecue served outside.
After speeches from Pete and his best man, Tom, I photographed Amy and her bridesmaids before romantic portraits with her and Pete. These included a sequence with what we thought were smoke flares, but actually turned out to be more like hand-held fireworks!
Tossing a bouquet seems to be increasingly popular at weddings, and Amy’s throw was a peach. Such was the enthusiasm to catch the bouquet that it actually bounced out of the first girl’s hand!
Amy and Pete’s first dance was a beautiful feat of choreography – very impressive! After fun in the photo booth, they enjoyed a mock departure with sparklers, then joined me for a final blue-hour portrait in front of the manor house. Such a perfect day at Parley Manor for everyone!
