On Saturday 4 August, I was pleased to help Adam from A Knight’s Tale Photography by acting as second shooter for the wedding of Ginny and Luke Collier. My focus for the day was on candid shots of the wedding party.
The marriage service took place in St. Mary’s, Portchester, which stands in the grounds of Portchester Castle, originally built by the Romans.
On a blisteringly hot summer’s day, Ginny arrived in a white Rolls Royce, looking stunning in an embroidered white silk gown. Supported by her father and a trio of bridesmaids in dove-grey dresses, she walked up the aisle to the strains of Bach from a string quartet.
Taken by the Reverend Ian Meredith the service included the hymns All things bright and beautiful and Jerusalem. Afterwards, the bride and groom posed for confetti and family photos.
The wedding reception took place at The Old Thorns, a luxury golf resort near Liphook, and concluded with fireworks at dusk.
