Couple listen to a reading at their church wedding

Wedding organised in just four days

Vanessa and Oli’s Warsash church service and Titchfield Great Barn reception

Lockdown in response to the coronavirus pandemic played havoc with Vanessa and Oli’s wedding plans. They originally planned to get married in May but were forced to postpone until October and shrink their original guest list down to 30. When it was suddenly announced that the size of parties was to be further reduced to 15 from Monday 28 September, they abruptly changed their plans once more. Starting just four days before, they successfully rearranged their wedding on Saturday 26 September, just before the new regulation took effect.

Vanessa and Oli were married by the Revd Mike Terry at St. Mary’s, Hook-with-Warsash, a beautiful church in the Victorian gothic style. She arrived in a vintage Cadillac, wearing a beautiful off-the-shoulder ballgown-style dress with her hair in a stylish chignon. Her father walked her up the aisle, to be greeted by a delighted Oli. The service passed all too quickly and was followed by photos outside in the September sunshine.

Over at Titchfield Barn, guests socialised over drinks and then listened to emotional speeches from the wedding party with lots of toasts. Vanessa clearly meant the world to Oli. This was followed by an Indian buffet meal and their first dance. Given how quickly they were organised, their wedding celebrations came together so well – it was such a joyful occasion.
